In addition, our employees enjoy a number of individual and team-based incentives for their continued efforts in making Wakefield Pork a successful competitor in today’s pork industry. This includes team safety awards, annual appreciation picnic, Christmas party, sponsored leadership opportunities, culture-building enrichment activities and performance-based competitions.
The most notable of these is Wakefield’s friendly NASPIG competition. The NASPIG competition is an engaging employee incentive program developed to recognize superior work by WPI employees. Based on the highly popular NASCAR sport, each of our barns earns points based on production performance around key goals and metrics. The 40-week season starts in March with quarterly winners recognized every 10 weeks and overall season winners in December. Prizes are granted and bragging rights established each NASPIG season!
NASPIG has invoked a healthy competitive spirit in our company and has provided a fun method in which employees can track and monitor their production goals. Team camaraderie and collaboration are the results of NASPIG, and employees report this is one of their favorite employee “benefits.”
